Repair shops will need to understand how to safely inspect and repair these vehicles after accidents. Battery location, wiring, and manufacturer procedures will become even more important.

Another change is the spread of advanced driver assistance systems. The best repair shops will know how to work within digital systems while still advocating for proper repairs.

Drivers may also see more connected-car data involved in repairs. Vehicles already store diagnostic information, warnings, and system codes. In the future, repair planning may rely even more on scanning and data access. This could improve accuracy, but it also raises questions about repair rights, privacy, and access to manufacturer information.

Despite all the technology, the customer experience will still matter. People want clear communication, honest estimates, help with insurance, realistic timelines, and quality work. A shop can have advanced equipment, but trust is built through service.
